Welcome to the Rotavirus e-Learning Course

The ProVac Rotavirus e-Learning Course is a practical tool designed to aid health care administrators in making evidence-based decisions regarding vaccine introduction into national immunization programs.

Coupled with technical support provided by a team composed of epidemiologists and health economists from the Pan American Health Organization’s ProVac Initiative, this course will address the following objectives:

  1. Ensure smooth introduction of the rotavirus vaccine.
  2. Assist with planning for program sustainability.
  3. Promote further strengthening of existing immunization programs


This course may be used
    • Before introducing the rotavirus vaccine into the immunization program, to help assess whether the introduction is feasible.
    • After deciding to introduce the vaccine, to design and implement the introduction plan.
    • After introducing vaccine, to monitor the implementation and to evaluate the impact.


It is equally useful
    • As a technical tool to plan, put into action, and monitor the vaccine introduction.
    • As a supporting tool, to help inform policymakers and donors about the health benefits and costs of rotavirus vaccine introduction.
